Tapestry Playback Theatre Ltd is a non-profit community theatre company that bases its transformative work on the playback theatre form.

Our vision is to create a safe and non-judgmental space where stories surface and dialogues happen. Our mission is to establish playback as a transformative tool in community by training and supporting competent playbackers.

Tapestry is a Company Partner of the Centre for Playback Theatre (CPT) and a member of the International Playback Theatre Network (IPTN).

So many special moments in this last show of 2017, our 15th year. Thank you to all our friends, families, and supporters who have walked with us thus far. Thank you for the stories. 

 A big thank you to our sign language interpreters and notetakers! We loved having you with us.

The idea of open rehearsals has always been a platform for us to advocate for Playback Theatre, and to have a space for us to connect and play with people who have learnt Playback, but do not have a  group to practise with. 

Each and every time, we're touched by the generosity of people, and the oneness and feel of community that Playback can create. 

We truly hope this community grows. And more and more people will get to know this wonderful craft that can help make the world a better place.

In an open rehearsal, anyone can take the stage and try out the different dramatic structures (forms) we use in Playback Theatre.

Thank you everyone for coming to our last OR of 2017. We're privileged to share this space with you, and to hear your stories. 

Playback Rhapsody Sessions 02: Food for Thought

Playback Rhapsody Sessions is Tapestry's new initiative, in addition to our ticketed performances, Open Rehearsals, and Training Workshops.

This is a platform for community-building through the sharing of stories. It is also a valuable opportunity for our team to build skills and chemistry, particularly for members (old and new) who want to practice new roles.

With our ticketed performances moving towards socially-relevant themes, our free Playback Rhapsody Sessions will take on a lighter flavour. The first one back in April was titled "Fools 'R' us" and this coming one is called "Food For Thought!"

This event is supported by Toa Payoh Central Community Club and PassionArts.

So see you on 29th July, 7pm at Toa Payoh Central Community Club, Dance Studio level 2 (Opposite the library @ 93 Toa Payoh Central Singapore 319194).

We hope to accommodate as many of you as we can, but there are limited spaces, so get your ticket now!
