Does It Matter? A Playback Theatre performance in Sept 2017

An old man tottering in the train while seats remain occupied. A community bike with a missing wheel--or two. People elbowing their way into the bus.

What kind of society are we enabling with our sense of entitlement? How do we build a community we'd be proud to live in; one in which we'd trust our neighbours to look out for us? What would a community of civic conscious people look like -- and will we get there?

Join Tapestry Playback Theatre in a conversation on what it takes for us to become a more caring and considerate community. Share your stories about civic conscious (or not!) acts and people in our community.

Playback Theatre is an improvisational form of community theatre. The audience shares real moments from their lives and watch the performers play it back, with elements of cloth, movement, music, and spoken word.

Friends from the Deaf Community are welcome to join us! Please leave us a message to tell us or email us at tapestry.ticketing@gmail.com. Sign Language interpretation will be available upon request.

Ctrl+Alt+Del - our upcoming playback theatre show

We reboot our our computers. Ourselves. Our dreams. Our relationships.

What is in our control? What is not? What are the alternatives? What can we delete? What do we reboot? What happens on reboot? What are the consequences of a restart? What is important to remember? Where do we go from here?

What stories do you recall? What would you like to share?

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Dates: May 23 (7:30pm), May 24 (3pm)
Venue: Toa Payoh Central Community Club Theatrette
Tickets from CtrlAltDel.Peatix.com or click the link at the bottom of the page!
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~

This is a Playback Theatre show, where moments and stories are shared by the audience, and spontaneously enacted by the performers, using elements of music, movement, cloth and spoken scenes.

As with all Playback Theatre shows, there is no script. There is a theme however, and it is Ctrl+Alt+Del. Come join us and build community with stories!

August Open Rehearsal & sharing of TPG

Dear friends,

Join us for our Open Rehearsal from 7pm to 9:30pm on 30th August, at the Toa Payoh Central Community Club Dance Studio.

This time round, we will also have a short sharing of our experience performing, and attending workshops, at the recent Taiwan Playback Gathering in July.

We welcome one and all to join our little community in exploring and practicing Playback Theatre in an open, safe and informal space.

Come and try out the different roles in Playback - the musician, the story-teller and the actor!

But do book your slot fast, because as much as we hope to accomodate everyone, our space is limited. Go to www.amiando.com/ORAug now!

The event is free, but please help support the practice of this community-based theatre with a small donation when you come.

This event is supported by Toa Payoh Central Community Club and PassonArts.
