PLAYBACK CAMBODIA

Tapestry Playback Theatre (Singapore) will be embarking on another playback journey to Cambodia (13-26 Dec 2006). This time, we will be working on a joint community performance with social workers, community workers and counselors from Mercy Teams International (MTI). Tapestry will also be partnering MTI in a project with Healthcare Center for Children (HCC).
This is a purely voluntary effort from Tapestry members. If you will like to support us, or have a heart in helping the children of Cambodia, do contribute what you can to the Tapestry Playback Cambodia Fund.

PLAYBACK CAMBODIA Presentation
There will be a special presentation on Playback Cambodia during the tea-break. Please stay on to support this presentation.

Tapestry Playback Theatre (Singapore) will be embarking on another playback journey to Cambodia on 20-25 June 2006. This time, we hope to bring two customized workshops for social workers, community workers and counselors from Mercy Teams International (MTI) and other Non-Government Organizations. Tapestry would also be facilitating a playback workshop for a group of Cambodian children from MTI.

This is a purely voluntary effort from Tapestry members. If you believe in the ministry of Playback Theatre, and would like to support us, or have a heart in helping the children of Cambodia, do contribute in amounts of $10, $20, $50 to the Tapestry Playback Cambodia Fund.

We had fun doing fluids and stories for our new friends who came for the performance on 3 Dec 2005. It was held at Kim's place and the atmosphere was just so christmasy!!!!

Thanks to all those who gave generously for our Cambodian trip, we raised a total of at least $250 in donations and sales of Cambodian products from the last two performances. This will be put to our common fund for our travelling expenses in Cambodia!

TAPESTRY’S CAMBODIA TRIP
YES! We are going to do PLAYBACK in Cambodia! Five members of Tapestry Playback Theatre (Singapore)are embarking on a playback journey to Cambodia. This is a voluntary program. We will be giving a three-day playback theatre workshop and organizing a children Christmas program in Cambodia.

The Playback Experience - Introductory Playback Workshop

Dates: 9th Dec 2005 (Fri: 7.30pm – 10 pm), 10th - 11th Dec 2005 (Sat & Sun: 9am – 6pm)

Cost: $280*

Who should attend?

Through a three-day interactive process, participants will have the opportunity to be immersed in the rich atmosphere and dynamics of the playback experience. Participants will learn the basics of playback theatre, with opportunities to practice the key forms including -- scenes, fluid sculptures, and pairs. They will also explore the roles of the conductor and musician.

If you are looking for ways to engage a large crowd or specific groups of people in an interactive manner; learning and exploring on how playback can be utilized in your present work; searching alternative and creative ways to discuss community issues (eg.roles, relationships, family and work); or just want to get ideas to conduct fun and enjoyable warm-up activities, then THIS IS THE COURSE YOU WANT TO ATTEND!

This course is ideal for teachers, youth workers and social workers, counsellors, therapists and anyone who would like to learn a new theatre form which promotes improvisation, spontaneity and creativity!
